Over 1500 cents a year for the last 3 years just in pocket change and no close or wide am's for me.

Good for you! I have been looking for one of those myself for forever. Now there's one more I'll never find, lol. j/k congratulations on a great find.

Also, is the close AM on the 1999 an error? I always understood that the 1998 1999 and 2000 cents with the wide AM were the errors, with the 1998 being the most sought after. If I am incorrect about this let me know.

I beg to differ! Every Lincoln Memorial Cent that you examined from 1959 through 1992, should have been Wide AM's and every Cent that you examined from 1993 to Present, should have been Close AM's!:D

Yes frank, but I was speaking of only 4 coins, not the entire memorial run. The 98, 99 and 2000 wide am's and the 92D close am.

I found my fourth Wide AM 1998 in less then 3 months last night! The other three were pretty beat, but this one was AU. Other than a few 1960s GEM BUs nothing else and the wheats were horrible. I search about 5,000 pennies a week though. I think the 2000 Wide AMs are harder to find - although I did find 2 of those last year. I have yet to get a 1992 D close AM in my hands though - oh would I lke that. It says on that Ken Potter article that the 1998 Wide AM is scarce, but you sure wouldn't be able to tell the way I've been finding them of late. I've found 6 in the last year! Not bragging - because if I had minimum hourly wage for the time I've spent checking coins, trust me, I could have afforded to buy them all and then some! :)

Make sure you keep an eye out for the close 1992 as well, not just the 92 D.

Oh yeah - ever since I saw in CONECA that someone had found a 1992 plain close AM ... I check'em :)

Found another 98 Wide the other night. My luck has been extraordinary in those lately. They are popping up much more frequently than I've ever seen before.

    wide am

Hi guys....keep searching those pennies!!! over the last 4 years (I search about $50. a week)
I have found 37 2000 wide ams, 18 1998 wide ams, and 2 1999 wide am one I sent in to PCGS came back a 65!!!!! So The 1999 is rarest, then the 98 & 2000.
