So today paid a bill today at the local bank, and as they always say anything else, I asked if she would take a dollar bill for the 2 halves sitting in her tray. She said yes and I received a 1966 half and another half. Don't you just love it.

Stopped by the bank yesterday to buy some dollar coins. The teller asked if I wanted her halves as well. I normally don't take halves because its mostly dregs but she was very friendly so I decided to take the $90 in halves.
Full roll of 90% Kennedys, two rolls of 40% Kennedys, 42D Liberty, 52D Franklin and another 64 Kennedy. Many in Nice condition. I called the bank to make sure it wasn't some little old lady that deposited the wrong roll. Nope. I owe the teller lunch. Oh and the Ironic thing is there is a coin dealer one block over from the bank.

Nothing spectacular, 16 silver roosevelts in one roll , I think 21 total in $75 worth of dimes.

I've only roll searched a few rolls of nickels, but in one roll I found a 1940-S in the AU range and a 1943-P! Not too shabby for a $2 roll.

Today is my best START that I can remember.

I went for a box of Halves, and they had none. &*%# ! So I got a box of quarters.

BEFORE I TOUCHED A ROLL, I HAD 1 FOR 50. My heart started beating, and I looked @ the other end.

    Now I'm @ 1 out of 51...

1 in each of the last 2 boxes of .25's; hmmm..........

I guess be glad that that first one wasn't unc / near unc. I might have had a coronary if the other end was ALSO a unc / near unc.........

I got a roll with two wheat cents once. One 1942, one 1957, which i already had, but i used it to display the reverse in my folder. Yep, my best roll, no gold, no silver, no v nickels, just wheat cents.

It wasn't me, but I know a collector who found an Austria gold Ducat in a roll of nickels--that's $129 of gold currently.

Many years ago--when the kids used to buy their lunch at school, the wife and I would go to the bank on Fridays and get couple rolls of half dollars and quarters.
One Sunday afternoon when I opened the halves--bingo nothing but Walking Liberties and a couple of Barbers, not a Franklin nor Kennedy in the two rolls. Sure wish I had gotten a hundred rolls--LOL. Oh, kids still got their lunch money but not from those rolls.

My best was when someone took back some old change and I got 182 silver dimes and 45 silver quartars and 44 war nickels and 26 buffalo nickels in those 3 bags earlier this year.

I just opened another with a 1945 Canadian cent, not bad, eh? Plus a 1983 Zambia cent. How did a South African coin get to the US?
