Is this $2 serial fancy enough?

Got this note the other day from my bank. Is this serial fancy enough to be collectible or is it just interesting? Almost a radar, but with 4s on one side and 2s on the other.

From looking at that serial, I would say that is a spender...nothing fancy about it.

wrong. it might not meet the arbitrary standards for 'collectible' currency, but for a numbers-person, it is a cool collection of digits. i'd keep it a while.

Oh I'm holding on to it regardless. I agree with both of you. The pattern plus the 2/4 connection on a $2 is definitely interesting to a numbers person, but I didn't think it fell into one of the collectible fancy number groups.

If you like it, keep it.
    Almost a radar.....that one I don't get.

I would keep it because it's an interesting number.

replace the 4s with 2s (or the 2s with 4s) and you get 2292|2922 which would be a radar

    But even though it's not, 4 is 2^2, 2*2, or 2+2, and with all the 2s on a $2, it's interesting.

Why can't you just replace the 9's and 2's with 4's, and it's a solid serial note.....worth way more than a radar. And, while you're at it, replace that pesky "A" at the end and make it a STAR !

Yea but that would just be arbitrary replacement. 4s mirroring 2s are already highly associated numbers.

You're right. I was in Home Depot the other day and I saw them selling 2 X 4's , and 4 X 4's ......oh wait, that was lumber, never mind.

In regards to your note: IF you play liar's poker you have a full house. However you'll probably play with someone who has four fours, or four ones or four of anything. Oh well, keep it a while then spend it.

Well, let's give it go at coolnumbers.com

    • The number you entered was 44942922.

This is a very cool number! It has a Universal Coolness Index of 97.0%

      • 44942922 contains 2 triples and 1 pair. Only 0.20% of 8-digit numbers have this combination.
      • 44942922 has 3 unique digits. In 0.71% of 8-digit numbers, there are 3 or fewer unique digits.

97.0% coolness index, not bad !!

I don't understand cool serial numbers.

    44942922 is 97 %
    99999999 is 99.8 %
    12345678 is 99.7 %

If you had the solid or the ladder on a two dollar bill, it would be worth thousands of dollars more than the 44942922, and there definitely wouldn't be a thread asking if the solid or ladder was fancy enough to keep. Is the scale they use 0-100 ? Are they saying that all three serial numbers are within 3 % cool of each other ?

As I said, I don't understand cool serial numbers.
