Has anyone heard any truth or legislation passing that would allow the Mint to continue with DC, The Mariannas islands and Puerto Rico and whoever else they want add in just to bleed us for more money.

Our mint boxes will become obsolete, think they are now anyway with the Presidentials....but I'm sure they will be happy to sell us more US Mint Blue boxes at a premium, I hope this does not pass.:rolling:

What was the name of the initial program anyway?!:headbang:

the lesiglation for the state quarter extension had been in the process for serveral years i belie, it has just never been addresed, they just dont discuss it and let it die .... so each year it has to start over again ...

Legislation has been introduced a few times, but it usually died in comittee or effectively died by not being voted on before the congressional session ended.

i think extention is a bad idea. why not just make those six designs on the kennedy half.

The State quarter program was a beautiful idea that came at the right time. Please at the end of 2008 let it have a graceful and dignified retirement .

Noticed that about the mint boxes for these coins. With the addition of the 3rd lens, the thing will probably not fit in those boxes. Oh well guess they will just have to sell another version. Maybe they will give a trade in.

Really does a sates quarter program need districts, protectorates, and territories added to it. I think not.

I agree with you Bama Guy, I enjoyed the program but....please make it go away at its original end date.

The legislation has been passed in the House five times and failed in the Senate four times. The legislation is currently in the Senate (AGAIN) but so far it appears to be going nowhere (YES!)

Let's hope they keep on bickering and forget about this. States are States, leave it at that.

But they should get to work on the silver dollar program, quickly....
