Because it would be pretty easy to find a nicer example, and probably for less money.

Well the redbook on it is $5.000. It looks legit to me. Good luck!

Looks pretty nice to me. But for that kind of dough Yes you can see others if you can get a better deal.

Bidding's not done yet, it'll probably get up to 4 or 5. No "deals" yet. You have to decide if you like the coin enough, and he has. So I wish Treashunt good luck!

There are a couple of better coins on eBay right now for a lot more money, but they're not better enough, methinks. We'll have to see the final price I guess!

Look through all the 34-S's in 64 you can find on Heritage and compare with the one on eBay. The eBay coin looks lustrous and flashy, which is typical of uncirculated 34-S, but has a lot of marks and not the greatest strike. As such, I'm not crazy about it. This is one coin I'd want to see in hand before purchasing.

Only use recent auction results for prices! coins.ha.com log in, search auction archives! Look at many examples in the same grade...for NGC and for PCGS.

I agree that there are a lot of marks in front of Liberty's face. I'm actually a bit surprised it didn't get MS63. Is it normal to have all those marks on a MS64?

It's at $4550 now... Make sure your wife is still cool with it or you may be on the couch tonight if you win it!

It looks a little dipsy, anyway. Scuffed-up, shining like that. Either Mother Nature was good to this one or somebody was.

Prices in the Red Book are well known to be, well basically worse than worthless due to their extreme inaccuracy - in both directions.

This is one of the 3 I need in MS-64 to complete my collection. I already have the 21 and 28 which are also pricey in this grade. Rest assured I will not be bidding on this coin. I prefer PCGS for this collection. I also will be buying from honest, reputable dealers and not at an online auction.

The questions that has not been asked or answered by you is, what will be sold so you can buy this coin? Which coin is more important to you and can you live with what you sell? It's kind of difficult to tell looking at pictures instead of the coin itself and even though the dealer offers returns, it's still going to cost you something if you but and return it for any reason. Be and proceed cautiously.

Now there's nothing that will be sold. Especially after today's bullion market smack.

I've got hundreds of Morgans and Peace in my collection, they're always quick money when I need it.

For now, they'll sit in the safe deposit box. Maybe some will get sold as I was really anticipating buying the coin in Oct - but this came along (and went).

After shipping, insurance, paypal and ebay fees - the guy's net on the coin is closer to $4200.

There will be another - not many - but there will be.

The reason you couldn't find a picture on the cert verification is because they have only been doing the pictures for about 7 years and this slab variety was produced before that time. Remember they have been slabbing for almost 28 years but only posting images for 7. That means a LOT of slabs with no images.
