My wife has inherited a set 4 Morgan Silver Dollars United States most beautiful Silver Dollars minted in New Orleans dated 1882-O,1883-O,1884-O and 1885-O. She also has 85 THALER M. THERESIA DG 1780 X RESTRIKE. She was questioning the value and if she was to sell them where would the best place to do so?

The Morgan dollars look like they have been improperly cleaned and only worth about melt value. I certainly wouldn't pay more than that.

Not sure if they are cleaned, bad lighting? Thalers are of a newer restike, probably worth $25 at most. The morgans would be worth around $35 retail if not cleaned and just in AU condition. On the other hand, when you sell them the Thalers you may get $13 or so from a good coin dealer, you may get around $17 or so for each Morgan from a good coin dealer (that is only if not cleaned).

I don't recommend selling to a jewelry shop, most buy them only for the metal and only care about melting them down in selling the silver, that means you will probably get very little money, and they will pay well under melt value. Try to find a coin dealer in your area to sell them to.
