This Washington Dollar Error craze is getting way too out of hand! Here is the link to a closed auction for a Washigton Dollar with doubling on the Obverse that sold for $102.50... If this had been true Doubled Die doubling, then I would say that the final bid price was cheap, cheap, cheap. However, since the doubling is Strike (Machine) doubling, then the person paid about $100 too much for the coin! http://cgi.ebay.com/07-Presidential...724QQihZ018QQcategoryZ524QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Frank
well, he does say this in his auction .,.. 07 Presidential Washington Dollar Error Machine Doubling so its not the sellers fault (this time) the buyer was uninformed ...
Other than the obvious machine doubling not being worth much if anything, and although not always reliable, this would have been a good auctoin to take a look at the number (and quality) of the bidder's past purchases. Be wary when you're going up against inexperienced eBayers...Mike
