Weird Homestead quarter

    I got this quarter as change from the store and it appears to be half brass and half silver. Any ideas on why it would be like that?

    From the pictures, the two faces don't look like they're different colors, but it looks like the obverse has some staining on Washington's wig and around his neck...?
