I got tired of juggling a 2x2, a loupe, a light and my glasses to get a good closeup look at coins at a show. I found something that, for me makes the perfect coin viewer. It's usable with one hand, or with your other hand to hold a light, and I don't have to take my glasses off to use a loupe. It's a compact Kodak color slide viewer. It fits easily in your short pocket to carry to shows: It opens up... ...to reveal a viewing area and a lens. The translucent panel at the bottom is there to allow light through when using the device for viewing photographic slides. The viewing area has a slot on each side which perfectly holds a 2x2 holder at the perfect focal length to provide a focused view of the coin in the holder. Overall, the magnification is around 6X and the open sides allow ambient light to illuminate the coin, or you can us a small LED flashlight held at different angles to bring out details. Can be used with or without eyeglasses. You get the same view holding it anywhere up to 4" away from your eye.
