Hi! While going though an old coin collection of a friend, I found a peculiar item. I suspect it may be a token, but I still was wondering if anyone could help identify it. It is the size of a quarter, gold, and is completely flat and plain except for a long, slightly raised 1 on the front. There are no record of it when searched for online.

    Thanks!

Can you post a picture of it?

It sounds to me like it is a gold-colored token about the size of a quarter and is flat with a "1" on it.

    Yes, photos would help!

    Thanks for the photo!

My best guess is that it is a game token of some sort. It is probably brass. You'll be very lucky to find someone who can recognize it since it provides no clues other than the number.

Possibly an arcade token, Cookie. The other side is blank?

You are probably right. I will ask the friend who's coin it is. Maybe they will know. Thanks for your help!

    I know what it's not.. it's not a counterstamp! ;)

Could be also a coat check piece. When I visit the NYC courthouse I have to check in my cellphone and they hand me a brass token with a number on it. Wish I could take a picture of it but I have to give the token back in order to get my cellphone back.
