    Guys,

I screwed the pooch this week. I sold three coins on Sunday and forgot to ship em out before I flew out to Chicago. I am standing up in a wedding so I was really busy.

I contacted all 3 of em and told em the situation and said I would refund them shipping.

Do you think this will mend it over?

    Probably. Don't worry about it.

Probably will be OK, but that is pretty bad customer service. Ebay also dings you a little, but if you are not top rated it doesn't matter.

I think most sellers wouldnt even tell the buyer what happened. They would just ship them out when they got back. Personally as a buyer, i think i would understand and be appreciative that you informed me.

If the shipping was not fast, I'd tell them you'll expedite shipping at your cost as soon as you return home. If your situation still going to delay arrival of the coins beyond what your buyers were led to believe, I'd probably sweeten things just a bit more.

I sold a coin on a Sunday but the buyer didn't pay until Wednesday while I was on a Jury. I printed the label but never packaged the coin up for mailing and totally forgot about it.

The buyer opened a dispute which got my attention and when I figured out what had happened, all I could do was explain and hope the buyer understood.

    Thanks. Makes me feel better.

I knew I was forgetting something as I left the house and I was like son of a gun.

I just bought a bunch of DVDs on ebay and the seller messaged me immediately and told me it would be 1 week before she could ship them because she was out of town. Although I was a little upset I had to wait almost 2 weeks to get the DVDs I was super happy she contacted me and I left her a 5 star rating.

I think most people will understand that mistakes happen. They're just coins, it's not like you forgot to perform open heart surgery or something. As a buyer, as long as someones honest with me and I eventually get my product it's not a big deal.

People these days expect everything to be instantaneous, I wouldn't worry about it.

As others have said, communication is huge. Just tell them what happened.

And some buyers are ruthless. After all, if Amazon can deliver in 2 days - you should too! :)

But our opinions don't matter, it's the buyers! Just do what you can to keep them informed, it's all you can do!

  13. Tell the buyers you are the one getting married, and they will likely feel sorry for you and let it go...lol. :D BTW: If I was one of the buyers, I would gladly accept the refunded shipping and let it go.

Refunding the shipping was a nice gesture and I know I would be pleased with it.

Lately I have noticed the estimated delivery day has been moved out about 5 or 6 days on shipped iteams. I think all the mailmen are at weddings too.

I like to believe myself to be a sensible person so I have always left 5 star feedback to any seller who messages me and explains the situation. I'm not always happy to have to wait, but I prefer to know why I'm waiting and have a light at the end of the tunnel. I wish you the best with the situation.
