I bid on this coin because I already had won three in the sale and overseas postage would not increase with one more. I had no idea I should have held off for one with better surfaces or a more scarce legend. Live and learn.

I've got this "Vivo" coin of Carus with Jupiter on reverse. There's the letter S in exergue , making it almost unpublished. It was struck in Cyzicus and pertains to the second Emission. Likely to be RIC 118 c. I learnt that there are only 7 specimen known so far. I do appreciate your comments. Carus O-RIC 118 c-2nd Emission.jpg Carus Jupiter Cyzicus-R5.jpg

Once again, I hope you don't mind, but I lightened your image just so as I can see all the wonderful detail. I did not change anything about your image other than the lighting. It's a beautiful coin.

I wish that a lot of magazine would go digital and have an archive.

    Nice and interesting coins guys.
Doug, the Parthico legend is very impressive, and pictures not that bad !
    EDDOP, nice specialization

As Carus is wanted "dead or alive", here he is, but alive first, of course
