I wasn't trying to be sarcastic. You asked a question and I answered. I have a whole ten cents in this dime, as I got it in change. My first thought when I saw it was that someone had punched an eight into it. I looked at it again with a loupe and the evidence I expected to see wasn't there. What I did see was the same as what I have seen many times on strikethoughs, but I also thought the same as @19Lyds in that it is too perfect for that. I didn't come here for a heated discussion or to convince someone of something it is not, I came here for an answer to a question that I couldn't honestly answer myself.

.......but, but, but you asked a question first! I answered it with my question, to which, you responded with another question. Geez, you'd think we were both Jewish!

Hey, Oded, did you see all of those crazy-faced emoticons after my name? By the way, my last name is derived from the word machuginah. Do I have to say more?

Besides, you'd probably hear much worse than that as a board member of the ANA.;):shame::shame::shame::shame::shame::shame:

    Hey Chris,

I was just joking back at ya...

And, unfortunately, I was not elected to serve on the ANA's Board... :-(

Living in Idaho, I have heard much much worse derogatory comments about Jews, mostly from people who have never met one...

Vaat... You don't like quvestions? Ask a Jew like me, you will get all kinds of opinions.
    its a mark
    something made it
it is the kind of mark that is usually found post mint.
which is not to say it could not possibly have been made at the mint
just say maybe it was after the mint
    or maybe not
maybe a very tiny person with hand cuffs got out of the hand cuffs and tossed them in the machine that feeds the mint pressing thing and they got stuck for just a tiny moment as the mint pressing thing came down, and then, after the mint pressing thing got done pressing this particular coin, they fell off.
((at this point if you are not laughing then you should start now))
    who knows?
But then if you ask "How vas dis made?" I'll quote the father of error collecting when he was asked the same question about a certain coin. "I don't know, I wasn't there."
let a smile bless you today.

Sorry, I didn't know about the results. Well, look at the bright side. At least you won't have to put up with all the hassle.

I know you were just joking, and so was I. However, since we're on the subject......

One of my Mom's closest friends was a Jewish woman who lived on Miami Beach. Whenever she decided to come for a visit, I tried to make myself as scarce as possible. Don't get me wrong. She was as nice as could be. The only problem was that she thought that every single man should be married.

Looks like PMD to me. I'd spend it; however, if you think you might have something, send it to ANACS. They're a cheaper TPG and you'll get an answer.

I vote counterstamp, most likely the # 8. Metal displacement does not always happen the way you would expect it to. I actually do think I see some subtle rounding of the metal/surface around the 8. The real trick here was the lack of damage to the reverse - it had something underneath it to cushion it during striking.

Anybody that looks like a question mark must be Jewish! Especially if the question mark has a long pointy nose and speaks with a south-European silly accent.

As for me - I guess I'm the exception...

Regarding the ANA - I am quite disappointed I wasn't elected, and there's good reasons for it, but I won't get into it here, since it's not really the topic of this thread.

I used to work with a Jewish guy, we became good friends. My favorite story about him, I took my son with me to work and I introduced him to my friend with the added comment that he got his accent from eating bagels. His comeback was, "Where did you get your's, eating cornbread? !!!
