Hilarious. It could not be more obvious that one picture is simply lighter than the other. It looks like he may have a small container of Deller's Darkener picture, which I'm fairly certain is just a combination of sulfur powder and vaseline.
you betcha' .. if he was smart, he would have isolated the area to be darkened, meaning not the background carpeting, and then and only then adjust the hue/saturation of the coin itself... then it may have fooled a few people ....

if they were smart, they would have highlighted ONLY the coin before it was digitally touched... the fact that this magic darkener also darkens fabric equally is amazing
They are actually two seperate pictures (note the speck of dust about 8 o'clock on the ligher one), however it appears to be mostly or all digital altering.
