I'm new here and have no clue about coin collecting or a given coin's value. And apologize if this is the wrong forum for this post. I found this in the bottom of my dad's toolbox and was wondering what it is and what it's worth. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does your Dad know that you're rooting around in his tool box?

First, welcome to the neighborhood, John!

2000 was the first year of the Sacagawea "Golden Dollar". Its composition was manganese and copper. Unfortunately, that first year the composition failed to live up to it's "Golden" nickname. The finish for the circulated coins had a tendency to turn a puke, brownish green. This was corrected the following year.

My dad passed away Feb 2012. I don't think he'll mind.

Sorry to hear that. My condolences. I hope my attempt at humor didn't offend.

Sorry to say that it is a modern Sacajawea dollar and is only worth face value.

For non-Cheeseheads, Neufchatel looks and tastes like Philadelphia cream cheese, except with about 1/3 less calories. It's very good in scrambled eggs and sandwiches made with fruit jam, also may be added to cake frosting.

It's even packaged the same way.
