This is a coin where my camera has really disappointed me. The colors on this coin are so beautiful. The coin was cracked out of a very old ANA holder graded ms-67. The coin is very pristine, and has overwhelming eye appeal. I'll keep trying to get some better pictures, but these will have to do for now.
It's a stunner! I wish I could see it in person. Looks like the middle band keeps it from being FB. I must ask, why did you break it out of the holder? Many collectors really desire coins in the old ANA holders. Do you know what the top pop at PCGS is for the micro S?
The top pop is a single 68 non full bands example. I cracked it out, as I felt the plastic was hindering the view of the coin.
Z-man wouldn't free it, if he thought it had no chance for higher grade, IMO ! You don't crack out, unless confident of getting back the same or better grade.
I personally think so, and I've had a couple of folks much sharper than myself say that felt it would be worth trying to walkthrough a couple times, and it has a shot. I like it so much though, that I think it will stay right where it is.
Great coin zane, I really like ms mercury,s and yours is a real stunner. By the way, you might try taking a pic with a grey background to bring the colors out better.
