The more I look at this coin the more I find. Yes it is one very nice coin. With the squared rims I was wondering if this could be a proof strike? 1862 US Half Dime Obv..jpg 1862 US Half Dime rev..jpg

I'm guessing, "No!" The dentils are too uneven for my liking.

The clash marks make me think it's not. I know you have better images than that.

It's not a proof strike, but a nicely hammered business strike.

I can see why you are wondering. Those fields sure have the look of a proof.
    One to compare with.

Must be a good year for examples of this fine coin. Mine I think is AU cleaned.

True, and a proof can be yours for around $500. What's not to like.
