Could be, although all I see in those photos is dull grey compatible with the level of wear, and some black indicating that it might have been unsuccessfully dipped.

I'd still be a buyer all day long at that price.

As long as it's not Chinese, I think you did rather well old boy.........

Nope, not Chinese, brought from a reputable seller too. I took to a show and a shop and was told it was real. I had another dealer offer $200 for it, so I sold it for that to someone else. What made you say it was Chinese? It was obviously listed in error and the seller honored it. Perhaps everyone was obviously concerned it was a fake lol. So I got it.

That's a really big hit to take for the sake of customer satisfaction. Glad it worked out in your favor.

Oh, I know, I was surprised he shipped it.I got it for the starting bid and I am sure it would have gotten to around $250. The last time someone listed their starting bid as a BIN was a 1876 AG/G Indian Head I got for 99 cents plus shipping. It was in good shape.

Not sure what you mean. @buddy16cat said he already sold his, and I said that I wasn't quick enough to win the auction in the OP.

I think he was talking about the 1876 IHC I bought. This stuff happened a while ago. This 1876 IHC has been in my Whitman book along with my better date lot finds. I was just going through this one lot of 65 IHC I got for $40, trying decide how I want to sell them. I found my 1868 in it.
