Yeah, what's that weird texture overlay on the new images? Sorry, Bing... this one needs a reshoot! (Does the smiley face soften the message or was it a wasted click?)
Maybe you don't need to reshoot it, just reprocess it. Which photo editor are you using? If Pixlr, it looks like you accidentally placed an overlay on the image, something like a weave pattern. I doubt that pattern is on the raw image straight from your camera, unless your camera has optional overlays which can be applied while shooting.
Man, I don't even know what an overlay is. The shot came directly from the camera with no editing other than resizing using an online JPEG Optimizer. Here is the same shot with a little editing, but I do not see the weave you are talking about. Newest New OLD I tried re-shooting it again using various angles of light, but none came out any better.
That is so bizarre. Have you shot any coins since then? Do they have the same texture? Clearly that texture is not on the coin, it is something introduced while/after the image was shot. What camera are you using? Example of a similar overlay. Here is your Calabria's reverse, with a woven-texture overlay on the right, added in a photo editing program. Many cameras an phones have built-in optional enhancements such as this. If your camera/phone does, maybe it was accidentally enabled?
I'm not sure. I have taken perhaps ten more images since and I see nothing. Here is an example of the latest shot with no editing other than re-sizing:
A wedding is a funeral in some people's mind. Sorry for the lose and happy for the couple. I guess I like you too.
Rediscovered this coin. Decided to retake the photo. I just wish it wasn't so porous, but I suppose we can't win them all. Dominion of Carthage North Africa, Zeugitana, Carthage AE Unit 16 mm x 2.29g c. 250-200 BC OBV. Pegasus Flying Left REV. Palm Tree with 2 Dates ref. rGCV 6530. Note: Scarce.
