1831 Capped Bust Half Dollar

    I am going with a wild guess it was a hole that was above the cap. It was filled, cleaned, polished, & re-toned ?????

    Does it look like it was patched on the reverse? That area is blurry?

    Either way the coin is not worth $999.

    Yes, it looks patched between to 50 & the C. plus the reeding on the rim right there looks flattened & bigger than the rest of the reeding.

    I probably would not give more that $30.00 for it, as a pocket piece or to show an altered filled hole example.
