Hello everyone. I have a little question here think this is the right place to ask it.

Coming up on my one year anniversary of somewhat serious collecting. Time for a self evaluation. I purchased a Gold anniversary set . Hope that I am close to whole sale level on this set. Can anyone tell me what the bid /ask price of this set currently is. That would be a NGC 70. Yea I know about a fool and his money.lol. Anyhow I am not interesting in selling it just part of my evaluation process. Thanks group

You are some where between doubling and tripling your investment. Closer to tripling.

To see what they are actively selling for: search the completed auctions on ebay.

You should keep an eye out for the 2 coin 10th anniversary platinum set coming out late summer if you want to go for the daily double. I'm not sure if you missed the trifecta, the 20th Anniversary Silver set. Raw set have tripled...70set are about 15 times issue price.

    Howdy Bama Guy!

Great set to own...I have the set as well, but still in the Mint packaging. I opened it to check them out when I got them instead of send them off for certification. I figured everyone would send them off and not many would survive in the Orig Gov Packaging.

I have the Silver set still unopened as well. All the "W" Unc Silver and Gold Eagles. I also have the "W" unc 1/10th oz APE....

Ran out of Dough so to speak! I am planning on the 2007 Unc Set in Plat and Gold and Silver.

thanks guys . Yea will have to look at the platinum set. Anyone know what the reverse design will be on the anniversary platinum coin . Also what is the fabrication premium that the mint charged over raw metal price on platinum and gold. I read it somewhere but I am old and do not remember as well as I should

Think I was very luck as a rookie to pick up on what I did. Lots and lots of good information on this forum helped me make some choices. Have 4 silver anniversary set in the unopened mint shipping boxes. Also had 3 opened sets, which one I was fortunate enough to give one to a very good friend for Christmas. At the time I gave it to him I told him "It is not what you call a big dog, but certainly more than a puppy" Think I may have to go back and change that lol. The 2006w 4 pc gold set that many members recommended and i picked up on is getting close to melt value at current gold prices. That is what I call growth. I know this stuff can come down as quick as it goes up but I am not concerned with that. The things i have bought have for all practical purpose has vanished from the face of the earth. They will be sold over my dead body lol ,

I learned from coin talk and a member and now friend to collect what you like and avoid the initial hype. That is what i did. Think that has worked out pretty good for me so far

got to slow down big time this year. Will look at the platinum set. That stuff just keeps going and going up in price. May have to look at a one coin platinum anniversary set if the price keeps going up . The mint proof set and the 2007w silver eagle is on my hit list.

thanks group it was an interesting first year.
