Nothing like a gem mercury.

    I have seen lots of mercury dimes in my days, but I really think this is a beaut. what do you think ? 1942 Merc-Obv AU-2.03.JPG

    Based on the photos it looks like the coin lacks any luster, is it just the photos or is the coin really like that? Any way you could take any different photos that show luster?

    Looks like AU-58 to me, not a bad coin though :)

    You happened to post about my favorite series of coin, so yeah, I think it's great! It's hard to tell the grade from the pic, though, and given that it isn't very old, it probably doesn't carry a lot of value unless it's an overdate (which I also cannot tell). But either way, nice coin!

    Nice coin but this e bay seller always uses the same back ground and never takes a 90 degree shot. I've seen this seller's listings before.

    For a common date high mintage coin the black spot under the E of WE and then what appears to be two rim dings in that same area would make me pass. Also the two contact marks on her neck make it look like a vampire bit her.

    nice example. AU and coins of this era 34 to 45 make for a great short set
    easy to put together and they look great as a set.
