Stujoe sold his last website to a Russian Canadian I believe. I guess he could not stay out of the game for long. Seems as if there is alot of coin websites up and about right now from what I see people here posting about, including you Adian. This is the only coin website that I post at but must admit that I had a fondness for that shierk that was trolling about here from time to time from an airforce base in Germany. So down the road, if time permits, I might check into it and troll about.

He sold one of them to a Canadian from Toronto named Anton, edited to conform to forum rules who liked to let only 1/10 of my postings be put up.I've now stopped posting on www.coinpeople.com .

    Hi all.

I did not sell anything to anyone, actually. When the old coinpeople.com site crashed and I could no longer manage it, I gave the CoinPeople.com domain name to Anton and helped him start up a new site with it to give the old users a place to go. I wasn't interested in making any money off of it even though I probably could have made a few bucks. I think Anton has done a good job with the site but it is totally his baby. I am not an Admin or Mod or anything else on that site except for a regular user like any other regular user. No more, no less.

I put up thestujoecollection site quite a while with an old data base backup as an archive of the old coinpeople site. It is functional enough to still have some useful information but broke enough that people shouldn't want to use it. ;)

As of now, I still have my coin collection but am more focused (pun intended) on photography and have started a very small forum on that particular hobby. So, the short story on that is I have no desire for thestujoecollection site to become active. I don't even monitor it except for about once a month to delete spam and porn posts when I think about it.

I still stop by here and some other coin websites to keep up on info in case the coin bug bites me hard again.

Anyway, take care. I just wanted to clear up the record.

Stu Joe,thanks for clarifying the situation.I still reckon that you should get that forum fixed up so we can bring it back from the dead,as it were.

    What do you think?

    Aidan.

Stujoe, thanks for making coinpeople a reality. Without you, the forum wouldn't have been a success. The stujoe site is better known as coinpeople right now. It probably is one of the more successful numismatics forums around.

Aidan, if you don't know the scale of how much effort it requires to maintain the forum, as well as good time and money, perhaps you should not comment. Coinpeople was hacked almost on a daily basis that Stujoe eventually lost control over it. I wouldn't want a forum without a proper admin - not nice if it goes down too regularly. That's where good money is spent for. Anton is doing a good job in maintaining that.

The same can be said about this forum - it just costs a lot of money and time. I'm sure Peter wouldn't want to think about the monthly bills.

Thanks gx and I agree. I have no desire for that stujoecollection site to become an active site again and go down that whole road once more. There are plenty of coin forums in existence now, IMHO so it would add nothing and I don't need the headaches. I know more about forums now but coins are also a dormant hobby for me right now so the passion and work needed for a site like that is not there for me. And, so far, I haven't been sued for my photography website. ;)

Gxseries,I can comment,as I am the Owner-Administrator of a forum myself.Things have been very quiet lately.I haven't had any spammers signing up lately.I have got one other Administrator that helps me out.

Stu Joe,you were overeaching yourself by trying to run the forum all on your own.You should take a few pages from here, fix up your website,& appoint a team of Moderators & Administrators to help you out.

If you don't get that website up & running again, then you have got a valuable resource just sitting there not being used. Why look a gift horse in the mouth. You have got a golden opportunity in front of you.

    Aidan.

Spammers are of no concern to any site as they do not do much damage except being irriating, posting links and malicious warez. Obviously you don't know what real hackers can do. Moderators and adminstrators cannot do much about it except the server adminstrators. That was what Stujoe's site was under.

Perhaps this type of inappropriate post is what Anton has been refusing to post.
