Have been a couple of times in the past and I dd enjoy the magazine and the library, but my father is a life member and I can get all the perks without the annual membership expense.
I think it's worth it for the magazine, plus my membership saves my local coin club some money. I joined primarily for the NGC submission account, however, I ended up joining NGC anyway since the 5 free submissions coupon was worth more to me than the membership price.
I've been a member for probably 10-15 years. Don't remember exactly how long. Currently use the Hugh Woods insurance and have used the NGC benefits previously. I'll probably look into becoming a life member next year.
I've been a member for the past couple of years. Last year was my first ANA convention. Don't know if I'll be able to make it this year though.
Just out of curiosity, does anybody know what it would cost someone in their 30's or 40's to become a life member?
Been a member of the ANA since I seriously got back into collecting. I enjoy the benefits like getting into the ANA shows, the Numismatist magazine, NGC submission privileges and insurance through Hugh Wood. But even if you don't personally take advantage of the membership benefits, all collectors who love this great hobby of ours should support the ANA by being a member. It is our national organization and they do a lot to help our hobby grow and keep it great. Sure, they don't always do a perfect job at everything, but it's what we have and simply not joining or letting your membership lapse does not help them get better. And if you don't support the organization by becoming a member, you won't have a vote to put the folks on the Board who you think can make it even better.
Yes since 2011 when I got free membership for a year through a friend. I've been a paying member since 2012. I really enjoy the magazine and messing around on their website.
Just renewed for 3 more years. I like supporting organizations that do things I care about. Good magazine too.
I was a regular member from 2006-2012 . Once I opened my own shop I got a Life membership . LB's come with a fancy plaque.
If memory serves, it's $1200 for anyone under 54 years of age, but they have a 2-year payment plan for it. That's only $50 a month.
I believe it is for the Life member Basic (I get the Numismatist online) . LM stands for Life member too but they get the printed Numismatist.
