    T. tends to come on small coins by junior rulers. Mine is Caracalla from Nikopolis ad Istrum.

Thanks very much. The Otho was the very first ancient I purchased. I know it is the most common type, but it is still an Otho.

Otho coins are not common. Just some more than others. Here is my only Otho which I need to re image yet:

The fact of the matter is that thread hijacking is practically de rigueur here. No one will call you out for it, especially if you show us some nice coins while you're at it. Welcome! :)

Very cool new pickup, JA ... sadly, I don't have an example to show-off (want list)

You can't hijack a thread on CT ancients, lol. We're the most tangential crowd on the internet. Welcome to the forum!

Nothing wrong with hijacking as long as all the Eastern collectors can get off the thread safely.

This coin arrived today. The patina is more fissured than I expected from the seller's image, but I'm OK with that - it isn't chipping. Sometimes you've got to take what you can get with very scarce issues. The coin has a lot of charm.

Yeah, it's funny to see the pics like that. I've learned not to trust sellers' pics very often. I honestly don't care about color very much, just surfaces, strike, overall grade compared to rarity, etc. Whatever color they end up being when they arrive is fine.
