Another new one: Ionia, Miletus, AR Obol

    I won this tiny thing 2 weeks ago in one of Agora's auctions but only recently got a chance to photograph and catalog it. The color in the photograph is almost spot-on, by the way, really sweet dark toning on this one:

    Ionia, Miletos. 525-494 B.C. AR obol (10.1 mm, 1.11 g, 1 h). Forepart of lion right, head left / Stellate and floral design within incuse square. SNG Cop 944; SNG von Aulock 2080; SNG Kayhan 476.

    Nice coins guys. I am especially digging the hemidrachm, gonna have to hunt down one.

    Obv: Forepart of lion facing right.
    Rev: Beautiful star ornament
    within incuse square.
    Grade: aVF with attractive toning.
    Nice, tall design completely
    struck within the oblong flan.
    Other: Sear 3532. May be late 6th to early 5th Century B.C.

    Obv: Forepart of winged boar right
    Rev: Quadripartite incuse square with K in lower right quarter.
    Grade: gVF toned on good metal
    Other: The HUS KLAZOMENAIOS was a gigantic winged sow which terrorized the Greek town of Klazomenai in Ionia. SNG Copenhagen 10; SNG Kayhan 336. Purchased while diving at Christmas Cove STT, USVI. (Ex CNG auction 334, 3 September 2014 Lot 80).
