Thanks very much. The Otho was the very first ancient I purchased. I know it is the most common type, but it is still an Otho.
Otho coins are not common. Just some more than others. Here is my only Otho which I need to re image yet:
Wow, nice coin Bing. I checked out your gallery. Some amazing coins there. I love the Claudius denarius.
JA-- I love your new coin! Some type of provincial with Telesphoros has been on my perpetual wish list. You nabbed a nice one .
The fact of the matter is that thread hijacking is practically de rigueur here. No one will call you out for it, especially if you show us some nice coins while you're at it. Welcome!
You can't hijack a thread on CT ancients, lol. We're the most tangential crowd on the internet. Welcome to the forum!
Still good... Kingdom of Harikela Sylhet, Bangladesh AR Tanka or 64 Ratti s. 680-730 AD 33 mm x 5.62 grams Obverse: Reclining Brahma bull Harikela in Brahmi Reverse: Trisula symbol all within border. Wicks: Class A pg.91
This coin arrived today. The patina is more fissured than I expected from the seller's image, but I'm OK with that - it isn't chipping. Sometimes you've got to take what you can get with very scarce issues. The coin has a lot of charm.
I love 'em both ... The Lure => the sweet, green Seller's shot The Truth => the cool, proud Papa's photo!! => again, I love 'em "both" (congrats, JA)
Yeah, it's funny to see the pics like that. I've learned not to trust sellers' pics very often. I honestly don't care about color very much, just surfaces, strike, overall grade compared to rarity, etc. Whatever color they end up being when they arrive is fine.
