Those spots appear to be cosmetic, and it's not the first time a major TPG has overlooked something like that.

Those spots may have even appear after the coin was holdered.

Heck, the mint does such a good job with these coins it's rare to see any graded less than '68..........

I believe that grade of coin is based strictly on wear. Any blemishes could devalue the price of the coin to a collector.

Bulk grade, ( First Strike ) thats how it received a 69 . Let it out of its cage, send it in for regrading under base grade, won't even come close to 69 and you can put your money on that bet ..

Ken at bottom right of the pic are some arrows hit them and it'll enlarge enough to see some pretty hideous (spots)

Looks like the spots aren't limited to the area on the coin. I see spots on the bottom right of the case. Are you sure these are on the coin and not just on the case?

Pretty interesting find! No, I'm not sure. Looking at the reverse, in the double-zoomed view, it really appears to be on the coin itself. But, alas, cannot be sure.

If it's truly not spotted, seems like a pretty decent deal. But I'm no expert. :)

To point out some of the spots for those that didn't see any:

Ugly. Looks like to me someone on the job was eating while grading.

    Let's play a guessing game. KFC? ;)

I am confused about these getting graded. If you buy the new year wouldn't be uncirculated? Do they ever circulate? You don't spend them although you could.
