Welcome to the forum. Coins of the Third Reich are quite fun and easy to collect, with most being very affordable and them having plenty of history.

Your coin looks fine, and doubt if you will ever find a counterfeit of the mid-range pre-war German series - I've never seen one.

The key is, are you OK with paying $90+ per ounce for silver?

doug5353 yes i am OK with that, i enjoy the coins, so most world coins under 10 dollars aren't fakes i take it, but i am mostly interested in Third Reich coins, and thank you coinman1234, i am so new to coin collecting have alot to learn, any tips welcome on this issue

    Welcome to the neighborhood, Andrewski!

Question: Why would a Pole like Third Reich coins?

A lot of names ending in "ski" are Polish. The Third Reich didn't treat the Poles too well in WWII.

Quite possibly for the same reasons why an American would love nazi coinage. ;)

i do not support any Nazism or the Nazis in anyway, i just want to start somewhere on coin collecting i am new, and thought i start where i want :D i like the way the coins look, that's all. I feel like they are safe buys since i am so new at this and don't want counter fit coins.

Perhaps the guy just likes to ski and isn't Polish, or perhaps he is and simply wishes to learn and/or hold a tangible piece of history (you remember the old saying about not repeating it, right?). Or better yet, perhaps we should not make assumptions about people, their heritage, or their motivations, even if only so that another old saying isn't again proved correct.

The decision what should be in your collection is made solely by you. Most nazi coins are pretty common, especially if you collect them "by type" and not by year or even mintmark. There are a few (as in, very few) cases where I would be cautious, such as the Reichskreditkassen or Litzmannstadt (Łódź ghetto) coins. By and large you should be safe though ...

You guys have got to start learning when someone is pulling someone else's leg without using an emoticon.

To be honest Chris, my Mom was 100% Polish and they didn't treat her well either and she was born here. My great grand parents immigrated.
