I went through a lot of boxes, packages and envelopes that I never opened due to rent less hours at my job. I’ve now been retired for 6 years and I’m still going through them but I don’t have the amount I did. Lol

I just received my mail today and was able to complete this folder. No kidding, I put this entire folder together from junk silver except for the the common date coin, a 1954-S.

I couldn’t find one anywhere, including my LCS. I even checked with the mail order dealers I use and no one had this date. So I broke down and bought it. Now my folder is completed. Not my first one but like I said, it was all from junk silver so no complaints here.

I had a Benjamin junk silver folder. Took the coins and sold it on ebay. Mixed lots. I made a ton of money! :greedy:

I would advise a YN or anyone to do a set of Franklins at this time. Now before I have posted that they arent a series that most dealers pay up for...but that's good!
Building a set now even a very nice set is so doable! These have gotten cheaper even bu and ms coins.
Go the xf vf route and its a cheap set completed. Put it away for later...
The other positive point it gives the collector an achievable goal lets face it we as collectors need to see thing though...finished or our OCD drives us nuts.

Some neat rpm's too can easy be found.

You are so correct @Paddy54 as this set is basically low priced to assemble. It wasn’t always so but it is now. I still have 6 coins for a high grade set but they are tough to find like I want them. But a solid AU, XF or F set is very doable, even on a low budget at the current time.

You guys have inspired me to take this on. I'll do Roosevelt's, Franklin's and Washington quarters. I'm going up to my LCS in a week or two and get the Whitman folders. Everyone needs a challenge.

With silver issued coins, Franklins and Roosevelt’s are great buys to build a set or fill a Whitman’s folder at today’s prices. There are a couple of early Washington Quarters that are Slightly costly. Best wishes.

That is one heck of a collection of "junk silver" you got there. I'd buy that for $1

for a near bullion price.;);). On ward to the hunt.:D:D

Best wishes for putting together a nice set. Decide what type of set you want and go for it. If you get tight on money take the option of one coin it a time.

I visit my LCS every couple of months. My plan is to buy 5 Franklin's, 8 Washington's and 10 Roosevelt's each visit. Dwayne has Folger coffee cans full of each. As I finish or get close I'll do some upgrading. I know I'll have to pay up for the keys and semi keys.

Depending on how much he charges you’re looking at $250 every visit. I had so much junk silver, and I still do, I only bought 1 Franklin and 1 Roosevelt to fill those albums. Washington will be a bit different but you can get most of them in junk silver. But a low grade 32-D and S will be about $75 plus for each. Have you considered concentrating on the Franklin and Roosevelt set before moving onto the Washington set?
