    Large sized capped bust quarters are currently my favorite, followed closely by reduced size capped quarters, followed by capped bust halves. Here is a very nice capped bust quarter I got in the mail today from Ebay.

    By which I mean how old, where it was made, etc.

    It was struck in pure gold 1364 by the Count Louis De Male in Flanders. It is known as the franc a cheval, also known as the cavalier d'or. The coin was designed, struck and issued for only one purpose - to pay the ransom for the King of France, captured in battle by his arch enemy the Black Prince.

    Those are all beautiful coins guys. I have to say, I like the ones posted by the moderators best though. Awesome coins.

    The Black Prince Edward of Woodstock brother of John of Gaunt and son to Edward III...I know this only because I just did research on a John of Gaunt Conder Token :) Outstanding coin no doubt.

    Not any more, I no longer have a collection. But it's advertised in Coin World ( not by me ) every couple of weeks if ya wanna buy it :D

    Lol, I wish! I wish I could start a collection of gold, they make simply beautiful coins. Maybe gold will go back down to $35 an ounce soon, so I can get some! :D It is a very nice coin. :thumb:
