The 1859 Indian Head Cent w/Laurel Wreath (no shield) along with the 1793 Half Cent and 1793 Large Cent are all one coin runs. Here is a VF-20ish example of the 1859.

Is it really a run, if there is only one coin in the series? That's kind of like a one-game hitting streak. Anyway - it's a really nice coin.

Don't forget about the Flying Eagle 1c.,which were only issued in 1857 & 1858.I think those cupro-nickel 1c. coins were issued from 1857 to 1863.Am I right?

Another nice one Bone. :thumb: I think the flying eagle cent was issued through 1856-1858 Aidan, but not entirely sure, and I think the copper nickel cents were 1859-1864. Don't think any indian head cents were made in 1857, I think 1859 was the starting year. But could be wrong. Very nice coin Bone. :thumb:

I like it :thumb: I think 'one year type' would be more appropriate than 'one coin series'. Phoenix, although 1856 patterns do exist, Flying Eagles were issued first in 1857. Cupro-nickel Indian cents were issued from 1859 until 1864, when the mint switched to the bronze composition late in the year. A number of 1858 patterns, bearing similar designs to the Indian cent design later adopted, do exist.

Oh, okay. Cool. Thanks for the info and correction! Hey Bone, for this set are you going to try to get a 1974 aluminum cent to put in it? :D ;)

Nice 1859 Indian Ben. I had a terrible time finding a nice middle grade specimen to purchase. Most are VG or lower and have poor surfaces. Occasionally, you can find Mint State specimens at large shows. After extensive searching, I finally found an XF piece in an old ANACS holder that I was pleased enough with to purchase.

More one year series (circulation types)
    1796 Quarter
    1964 Kennedy half
    1796 no stars quarter eagle
    1808 quarter eagle
1861-S Paquet double eagle (Ok, this one may be questionable)
1907 high relief double eagle (the ultra high relief is a pattern)
