5 min to I-40, 3 1/2 hours to Asheville, 5 min to the park. It's a bit tempting, but I hate driving. Is there any special designation on the rolls for the coin exchange? Are "first day" rolls like those especially collectable? I certainly hope these start showing up in change locally (IN THEIR HOME STATE) quickly.
Always wanted to to do the 'Blue Ridge Parkway' thing. I'm currently in upstate NY. I have to settle for Rt. 17.........
I spent maybe 20 years living within an hour's drive of the Parkway, and go by its northern terminus (where it ends and Virginia's Skyline Drive begins) every time I go to visit my folks. It's certainly nice, with some stunning views, but I understand upstate NY has more than enough charms of its own.
Rt. 17/Interstate 86 is a beautiful scenic roadway but Skyline Drive has always been on my 'to travel' list. Like the Casey Jones song goes......there's a few other roads that I'd like to ride.........
Those guys are probably out of the country, watching the 'Today Show', and laughing their keesters off. Least heck, they's not at the summer place.......
I would love to go but too far away. I have been on the Blue Ridge several times though...great views. Maybe the DDR error will be a two lane highway...lol. I am in for a 5 oz silver puck. Enjoy the launch, TC
