I know that it was commonplace back in the day to make a necklace out of a coin but what a shame. I also know that this may be the reason why it survived in such good shape. Anyway, for $15 I couldn’t pass on it. A574CE82-93FD-468C-AC69-4D64FFAC0B9F.jpeg DA022341-613C-4C85-BDEF-F075EE11A632.jpeg

Eh, they made like 18 million of these. Not exactly a shortage of this date.

Except for the distractions it is a nice-looking coin for the price. Thanks for sharing.

Seems like 1876 is a common date for this sort of damage, due to the centennial year. I have a half made into a watch fob.

Not bad for 15 bucks. I’d hang that on my hat.

remind me to never show you guys the rings made from walking liberty half dollars ... a common practice today of all sorts of coins.

But thanks for sharing. Good quality coin albeit the hole.

I like it too. For $15 you can't go wrong. As long as you like it that's all that counts.

It hurts to look at a coin like that.

Oh, I’m guilty of making a few rings but I used Washington quarters or dateless type 2 standing libertys. The real horror story are the seated liberty half’s that were started for rings. In vf condition.
