Just post pictures of your favorite design(s), you don't have to own the coin. Above are several of my all time favorites...let's see some of yours.
Large sized capped bust quarters are currently my favorite, followed closely by reduced size capped quarters, followed by capped bust halves. Here is a very nice capped bust quarter I got in the mail today from Ebay.
¥100,000 PCGS PR-69, Heisei 2 (1990) commemorating the ascension to the throne of Emperor Akihito, 30g (.9646 oz.) 24K gold, 100,000 mintage:
It was struck in pure gold 1364 by the Count Louis De Male in Flanders. It is known as the franc a cheval, also known as the cavalier d'or. The coin was designed, struck and issued for only one purpose - to pay the ransom for the King of France, captured in battle by his arch enemy the Black Prince.
Those are all beautiful coins guys. I have to say, I like the ones posted by the moderators best though. Awesome coins.
The Black Prince Edward of Woodstock brother of John of Gaunt and son to Edward III...I know this only because I just did research on a John of Gaunt Conder Token Outstanding coin no doubt.
Lol, most of mine have been taken, but here are a few I really like. See any pattern? This is a copy of a coin from New Guinea. Ethiopia 1897 coin Franklin Half, deep cameo My own proof nickel Nice gold you got there GD. Is that one yours? Also, Roy, do you mind if I use this pic? Want to check first before using it as an avatar. Thanks. Phoenix
My 'favorite' changes all the time. Here's one of many favorites... The Black Prince coin is wonderful. It'd be nice to own a beauty like that.
I really like the ethiopian coins, I wear one as a necklace, here is one of my favorite of those emperors: The work on the crowns are great...
Not any more, I no longer have a collection. But it's advertised in Coin World ( not by me ) every couple of weeks if ya wanna buy it
Thanks! Lol, I wish! I wish I could start a collection of gold, they make simply beautiful coins. Maybe gold will go back down to $35 an ounce soon, so I can get some! It is a very nice coin. :thumb: Phoenix
Wow, that is a nice one. They sure did have nice coins. Do you have a pic of the one you made a necklace? Phoenix
