Hi Friends. This coin of Emperor Constantius II is listed RIC VIII Antioch 113. The reverse reads in four lines VOT- XX- MVLT- XXX. It measures AE 4 and is rated C4 as long as the officinae is A ( SMANA ). My question is whether I have an A or an H officinae ? Here are 3 scans. Thanks guys..
Now that I take a second look at it, whether it's an A or an H, the engraver seems to have drawn it rotated 90 degrees to the rest of the mint mark. Either that, or it's an I with overly-long cross bars. I think it bears more investigation.
I see it as an H but the coin is C4 either way. RIC VIII does not separate officinae when rating rarity like volume VII does. Different authors always did things 'their way'. RIC is not one book in ten volumes but ten books that share a title.
