Found this, almost crapped myself when i glanced at all 5s. All but 1. Still cool. What kind of premium? Its a fresh crisp bill, minus one fold.
it's a keeper. http://coolserialnumbers.com/FancySerialNumbers.aspx http://oldcurrencyvalues.com/serial_numbers.html
Oh a definite keeper, ive only been watching serial numbers for 5 or 6 months now but thats easily the best ive found. Along with a $10 that was 66444466. Also wanted to update that as I was leaving a customer spent a $5 red seal from 1928 E. Add it to the pile! I should just start a thread to update all my cashier finds, do we do that here. Ive also been keeping all $1 star notes i see just as a way to save money. If I ever get enough, I figure their best sold/collected in bulk. Thanks for popping in guys.
Where do you work, where a customer spent a 28 $5 red seal? Most people in my area won't even spend a 1990 $10 bill, thinking it's counterfeit.
Lol, boston,ma area. Im at a gas station. Gotta do what you gotta do for that gas i guess. Ive had someone buy $3 gas with 40% silver half dollars before, that went straight in my pocket.
I agree, I would keep it as a personal find. I wouldn't get too excited over "what's it worth". It is one of many "close but not quite" serial numbers. To a real collector or like Heritage Galleries for resale, they would not be interested. To a young person or a less demanding individual, $3-$5. Don't hold out if someone offers more. It is always a disappointment when you are this close but not there. I have been there many times. :>(
