And to make things clear, I do not own it. I would like to, which is why I am trying to come up with a value.

Information is everything. No, I was at the sale, the printed catalogue gives the other sales and I have these old catalogues (with prices realized).
Yours is a different one than the one iamtiberius talks about. The right provenance usually adds to the value (a famous collector, auction or an auctionhouse known for the quality it sells). Also, with all the government restrictions these days: the older the provenance, the better it is.

I think we are talking about different coins. The one iamtiberius linked to is simlar, but the one dougsmit linked to appears to be the actual coin.

Yes. But they are comparable, though the coin you want is slightly better (no striking weakness before the hog). My guess is that it would bring the same price in an auction (no striking weakness vs. better provenance).

Steve, your variety actually seems 5 or 6 times scarcer than the other one. Mine just arrived yesterday, and is the more common variety with the weasel-dog.

I was an early bidder, and forgot to check today! Probably more than I would have bid anyways.. I might have gone to a little over $500
