Howdy folks I had purchased a buffalo nickel on ebay a week or so ago.. The coin below is the one that I received .. Now the bottom two photos are of the listing coin I bid and won. So after contacting the seller and stating there must have been a mistake made.. To my suprize the seller was very rude and said it wasn't their fault That I don't agree with their opinions on grading! I sent the seller photos of the coin I had received and made it clear that the issue was I didn't get the coin I purachased! Still yet the seller was very rude ,finally refunded my money but never would admit it was a possible mistake , maintaining the coin I sent her a photo of and the one I purachased from the listing are one in the same .. See for yourself guys.
Nowhere near the same coin. Tell the seller the issue is not grade, its the fact that it is provable the coin they sent you was not the same coin as pictured.
To me, that's behavior worthy of a neg, but I understand from stories here that sellers can get negs removed if they simply show that they refunded your money. So I'd leave a neutral, noting "not the coin pictured" and "rude seller". I miss the days when eBay's feedback system did more to protect good actors than bad ones. Today, with sellers unable to leave negative FB for bad buyers, and with bad sellers able to get negative FB removed, it's starting to seem kind of pointless.
Ya know an honest mistake would have been fine , I felt this seller was trying to get one over on me. I did end up getting my refund , still thinking about what feedback they deserve. I've never been disrespected by a eBay seller like this before .. It really had me upset yesterday, I understand eBay sellers have it tough and I do my best to treat them with respect , Id just like the same in return...
That is absolutely not the coin from the listing. I kind of wonder if maybe she stole a photo from someone else thinking that all coins are the same. Does she have other coins for sale?
I did , I tried explaining this to the seller many times .. Even sent photos of the coin I recieved , I believe the coin didn't sell as high as they would have liked .. I was the only bidder on the coin at 12 bucks , therefore i think this was an attempt to pass a lower grade nickel off on someone that might not have known better... This seller is one to stear clear of in my opinion .. I know I will anyway, give me a few and I will post the sellers eBay name...
I went through this not too long ago. I finally got my refund, but it is a pain in the butt when you have to deal with rude sellers that will not admit to the mistake. Luckily, most sellers are good people willing to work with you, but there are always a few bad seeds.
Wow!! You do know about coins and are pretty good at grading. But, you are not blind!! Do they hope you keep the coin in the original shipping package and never examine it to see if it's the same coin?
An ebay seller trying to pull a fast one? No way lol. Maybe a blessing in disguise though as the actual coin looks like it was possibly polished or rubbed based off the photos.
3 questions: 1) did you have to send the other one back? 2) did they refund your postage? 3) Can you spell neg. or at best neutral
I agree the bottom and top coin are completely different coins. The top is nowhere near the same grade. Negative that user if you want.
I had that experience once. a proof coin with a big scratch. I had to threaten a negative feedback if they did not refund my money. this was when you could leave a negative feedback and it would remain there unless both the buyer and seller agreed to have it removed. I left a nuetral explaining my disatisfaction. I even sent pics of the scratch. he went on and on about that this was his first refund in a 10,000 auctions and that it was not his mistake. I just got even madder and madder. the refund came really late which also made me even more mad. another thing that pissed me off was the fact that the proof coin was sent in a regular 2X2. I was like...are you serious ??? at least send a proof coin in an airtite or some kind of plastic capsule. geez.
Well guys really what ticked me off the worse( other than receiving the wrong coin) is I was very friendly , ask if it could have been a mistake .. Sent photos of the coin that arrived, thinking anyone in the right mind would see this isn't the same coins. The seller seemed way out there, rambling about it's been over a month and she shouldn't do anything for me.. I explained she must be confused as I ordered this coin the 11th of this month.. It was really like talking to a walk , she just wouldn't reason with me. Only when I mentioned I would be force to contact eBay is when she started to change her tune. She then admitted it wasn't the same coin , but didn't say why is wasn't the one I had ordered. I did get my money back , she insisted I keep the lower grade coin, isn't worth more than the stamp and envelope to send it back anyway.. That's one thing that puzzles me , why would she spend 2.43 to send me that crap??
