Yep. I got a Lillybrook Coal mine token. Can be exchanged in 1c in goods. The cool thing is that is is from a town Hot Coal in West Virginia. Why is it so cool? Because that town just disappeared and now is a ghost town/abandoned. My dad lived around Hot Coal when he was a kid. probably a few dozen miles out. Really neat token.

Yeah, i was always interested in currency, and never though of collecting it. In fact, i know a nice story about my Grand father. I posted half of it on my topic in the introduction thread, I'll post a topic later. The outcome was 5 half dollars, and 7 silver dollars.

I'm a huge history buff, I start to try and collect coins back in 6th grade when I bought a 1927 buffalo nickel from a class mate. I went on to 7th and aquired a few more my favorite being a standing liberty quartet but that all came to an end when a sibling decided her boyfriend at the time needed them more than I did. At the time I chalked it up as a loss but now wish I hadn't. It wasn't till recently I became interested again in this "Hobby of Kingsman"! Fascinated with metal detector stories and loving history I finally found a cheap one. Then boom my first real find, 1863 Indian Head penny!!! Back in the game I went!!! Reading, learning basically giving myself a crash course in US coin history, I've learned there's more to collecting than just old coins. Errors varieties different sort of collections based on collectors interest. Fascinating and so much to learn that it really truly is a Kings Hobby. This hobby isn't going anywhere!! Its been around forever since the beginning of coinage and will not slow down anytime soon. When I'm a seasoned vet I hope to pass down knowledge as well like so many has done for me. I'm staying in it for the long haul!! There's so much educational benefit not to mention the fascination behind the story of each coin that might catch your eye. Its one hobby you just can't get bored of and it EVERYWHERE!!! Go buy a coffee or a snack BOOM the rest of your nights planned out from the change lol and not to mention there's always that chance in finding that ONE coin that could set my daughter up for a future with no struggle yupp ill keep collecting thank you!!! I believe the people in it already are the ones that are going to pass it down which is great but sad also!! Sad as in to many people in society are caught up in pointless popularity contests and wont even think of coins or currency anything more than just that, coins and currency!! Not the history, just on what they can buy with it.....
