This is a 1996 P Quarter. I was looking and seen several lines that went from the back of Washingtons head to his nose. Also it appears that there is three see through parts on Washington that you can see these lines. The first is between his eye and nose, the other two are by his ear on the head/hair area. Please help.
I can't tell at all from the pics, but it sounds like die cracks by what you are describing. Do the lines look like this? Phoenix
The photos are useless. You may be describing die scrapes. These may be caused by a mistimed feeder finger scraping across the die face.
I'm guessing you only have a scanner. If so, we can't help that much without clear pics. Sorry. It could be anything from die cracks, to die gouge, a lot of possibilities. Do you know anyone that has a camera you could borrow to get pics? Good luck. Phoenix
If you have any kind of photo editing software, do your scan in a high resolution, then use the software to crop the picture and show only the coin, not the whole notebook page.
