Dave please put up full images. Go to edit and then to more options enlarge the images. I want to see the obv. What going on with her face?

I would not be worrying about full bans as it looks to be ...I be wondering about the bridge of her nose as well as her lips. You may have a new find there.....

Very good eye Paddy. Not her's but yours. That is pretty weird though. I have never seen a mercury like this. In any case I would still like to know if this is a full band coin. Also, does it look cleaned ? Would you give it a MS grade ?
    Thanks,

    Dave

It looks like there might be a small Ding right in the middle of the bands, so it's really hard to say from those photos.

I suspect the gap in the face is the result of die polishing.

With Paddy's observation, I'm wondering if this could be a fake coin.

This would make it a valid coin from the mint than, not PMD.

I've got a few mercurys that also have this bridge above the nose , not sure how common it is though..
As far as grade ,unless it's just the photo I'd say AUish possibly AU details ..
I get the feeling it's been lightly cleaned..
It's really tough to say for sure when judging from photos.

I doubt it's fake as the ones I mentioned having are slabbed by top TPGs ...

I say Au,maybe details that's another reason I asked for larger images. Maybe a ddo looking at her lip. Also several die cracks. One in the date as well on her lip.
Not pmd this happen at the mint. You should post this over at Coneca ask Ken Potter and a few others over there what their take is on this one.

It's hard to tell from the photos; could you do one straight on the coin?

Could be a devil head with that horn! But look at the lips they are not normal.

Nor is the back of the neck, a much larger portion missing, I think.

    Possibly struck through grease?

There doesn't appear to be the slightest trace of the missing elements; I think this is a more valuable piece than we are acknowledging.

Would like to see a similar Mercury illustrated right along side, in one image, I mean.

Well I'll add this her plastic surgeon would of lost the house on that nose and lip job! I hope he didn't do a combo booby ,nose and lip job. Way too much botox on her lips.:)

I pm Dave and told him to post it over Coneca and get an expert opinion on this one. I'm on the same page as to the value

I noticed that also and there also appears to be some possible clashing around "Liberty". At the L and between the B & E.
