The coin in question does not appeal to me.

The color and tone though is among the most desired not the battle creek level but quite desirable. The vivid bag tone on the reverse is desired by many that collect for color.

Would not amaze me to see 400-500 maybe more if a few compete on this one. There is still a significant market for color.

The seller has been a market maker in this area and has a strong following and reputation in that area of numismatics.

I would probably waffle at 65 money, but yes, it's definitely worth it to ardent collectors of color. . .

I don't pay extra for corrosion and can't understand those that do. To each their own though, I realize that I am in the minority with this view.

I have noticed that too from my own auctions, people pay over list prices for coins that are more attractive to the eye. Of course some buyers like their coins more white especially beginners.

I must echo the statement that this coin does not appeal to me either . I do like toned coin and have several in my collection . The color in not a natural tone in my eye. That said I personally would not give for this coin more than grey sheet. There are some coins that have eye appeal others don't . As everyone has their own opinions on this subject matter as it is subjective . ...it either works for you or not. That said to each their own. Considering the date and mintage to me I would pass this one by even at grey sheet.

Good, Now I know who to call if I have a toned coin for sale, b/c it isn't everyday that one can find a buyer paying over 65 money for a 61 graded coin.

Then this coin could be the most expensive MS61 common date dollar ever sold. Will this $45 coin sell for 10 X value?..:wideyed:

It's not a $45 coin just because some price guide says so. I wouldn't buy it because I prefer coins with toning on both sides. But this is not your average Morgan and certainly worth a premium.

    Yes please do.
I sold this one for 339.50. Maybe to cheap, but I gave the buyer a deal because he is a good customer. It appears that you don't know the coin market, so you may not understand that when it comes to toned coins you can throw your price guides out the window.

WOW!:wideyed: I didn't see any of these fishes swimming around when I was doing coin shows 20 yrs ago. Back then I was only able to sell nice white coins. The toned coins just sat there in my case staring at the ceiling.

Very true. The pendulum swings back and forth b/t toned and white coins. I have no doubt that 80% of the members here prefer toned coins.
