    Septimius Severus, silver Denarius, Rome mint / Genius of the Roman People standing left with patera and double cornucopia, 208 AD. This one seems rather porous, probably from cleaning of burial damage but I see no reason to doubt its authenticity. It is not a rare type.

    I thank you both! It belonged to my Dad who passed away in 1995. While I do not collect ancients or foreign coins he left me a shoe box of both, mostly accumulated during his WWII Army time. Again, the information is much appreciated!
