Last night at our monthly meeting of the coin club we had a 120 lot auction and I won just a regular xf or so Stone Mt. Georgia 50 cent coin. This is my second one due to the fact I miss placed my first one about 20 years ago. I still can't find it. Maybe if I move some of my stuff around the house I could find it. So how many persons have had the same problem?

Somehow, somewhere my full set of Liberty V nickels in a Capital Plastics holder disappeared.
The two early keys were AG at best and the rest Good as I recall.
A thing like that is hard to lose!
When we moved last year I thought maybe it would show up.
    Nope.

You guys remember the old blue Whitman folders? The first folder (#1 1932-whenever) went missing during a move about twenty years ago. It was complete (circulated-all from pocket change). I'm still sick over the loss.........

[Di Niro voice] You talkin' to me? :)

It's gone. Don't have a clue as to what the devil happened to it but I do have some suspicions. Back when we first moved out here (eastern LI) we had a babysitter who was a bit of a nut. I think she may have taken it but I couldn't be sure......I mean, why not take the gold that I had? Never made sense. Probably left it at the old house........

Are you saying that it is one of the counterstamped Stone Mountain halves, in this case, a Georgia?

Stone Mt. Georgia 50 cent coin. When I was on a Boy Scout camping trip
in about 1954. In a local creek, we found about 20 to 25 Stone Mountain halfs, and many other coins. I still have the ones that I found five. Plus many shield, "V" nickles, and IH cents and a few Flying Eagle cents and other halfs too. The coin that got me started on coins was a 20 cent coin 1875 s/s I still have it too.

The Stone Mountain memorial (the thing the coin was used to fund) is located in Georgia.

Yes it is. It is in De Kalb County, Georgia. I live about 15 miles from it. the coins were sold to rise money, to do the carving. It took a long time to complete. I have been on the mountain many times. It was once owned by a guy who that was the grand dragon of the KKK in Georgia.

Misplaced an Osan and Sheppard token for about 4 months and they thankfully turned up. Think there might be a black Sheppard token on the lamb as well. Is that bad I can't remember if something's missing?
