I believe he was saying the "true" value of this roll assuming it's A put together scam roll is approximately the value of an au mixed date Morgan roll, which would be slightly above melt

You missed my point. This roll is WORTH same as a mixed roll of AU Morgans, ie a bit above melt (maybe $20 per coin).

OK, so let's 20 of us chip in and buy a roll! We'll each get 1 silver $. Since I came up with the proposal, I'll sort through 'em and send 'em out to you guys.... ;)

Why are we debating this?, its a Morgan roll on eBay, so assume the worst. I would trust a used car salesman any day over the unopened roll sellers.

NO, the math is OK, the poster is not saying what it is worth is what it is selling for. It is indeed selling for ten times the average value, which is probably what the poster meant and is how I read it.

WOW - like 5900. I hope someone bought it, carefully opens it, checks it and then returns it. That would be sweet in my mind. I don't even look at stuff like this anymore. Not says no deals out there, but about 99 out of 100 are rip-offs.

There is wording to the effect that if it's opened, it cannot be returned. This is unregulated high stakes gambling.

If the seller had history of only estate sale items, I'd say it's a better chance it's real. However, looking at his/her history of sold items, it goes back to April with a never ending stream of unopened rolls, and also single, raw "DMPL" Morgans (cherrypicks?) and some slabs. Now it's still better than the 2nd seller the OP linked because that seller is actually guaranteeing GEM BU coins inside the roll. He knows whats in it. If I had the spare change, I'd only go maybe 1500 for the roll, and even that's 75/coin. Those bidders are out of their minds @ 4000+. OTOH, I wouldn't touch the 2nd seller's listing at all. If he has to doll up the pictures with stocks/certificates from the bank it supposedly came from, it most decidedly did not come from that bank. That should be an eBay maxim.

25 bids...could be the seller has a group of his friends bidding on it, of course with no intentions of paying, to make it appear like it's a credible item, to catch a sucker at the top of the bid. An old eBay trick.

Just my opinion, I didn't closely analyze the sale.

I took another look at it - I'm staying away from it, far away.

I'm always leery when it's an unopened original roll, especially since they went right into burlap bags after being coined.
