Indian Head Cent

I'm looking into buying one so if anyone has some good pics or information on this coin. Preferably 1800's. Maybe someone knows where to get a good one. I don't want an uncirculated one because I can't afford that.

You shouldn't have to look very far. I'll bet there's two dozen CT-er's with one or more duplicate XF-AU's with luster for $13-$17 postpaid.

Is that your price range?

 

Are there any coin shops in your area, Kevin? That way you can actually look at the coin. You can try eBay, but sometimes the pictures are misleading, you know how that goes. Maybe some folks, here, may have some you can look at, just be patient.

 

Thank you, Doug that is in my price range, I just didn't want it going up to like 100$ and Eddie I'll look to see if there's shops near me I haven't checked before.

 

If you were thinking of the $100 range, while you're at the coin shop, buy a new Redbook or "Coin Prices" magazine or something similar.

You can also look at "Solds" on eBay -- not current listings, "Solds".

 

Of course you can't buy these "Sold's", but it gives you the idea of what you should pay for a nice one.

 

If your looking at buying a raw Indian Head Cent, I can recommend Fairviewcoins as a seller on eBay. I bought my Indian from them. I paid $40.00. It's just a matter of looking through their listings and finding one you like. You can then copy the image and post it on here to get people's opinions. Here is the Indian I bought. It has a really nice iridescent patina on it.

You could probably make an offer of $35.00 and pick it up.

 

Coin looks like it's been in a locket - spread-out shiny spots on both obverse and reverse rims.

 

You could be right.
