I've recently acquired this 2000 Silver Proof Set and noticed the Dime on the obverse (and reverse) had some damage. Appears to be a couple of small pitts (above the 'In') with scattered abrated areas on the face (as if it were hit with shrapnel) The reverse side has some 'fog' around the upper part of the left laurel branch which corresponds to the area of damage on the obverse side. Other than those areas the dime seems in mint condition. I was wondering if anyone else had heard or come across any errors with silver proof dimes from the 2000 set?

I'm not so sure that isn't just a damaged coin.
Any chance you can return it for exchange or refund?

I agree, looks like a smudge to me. Return the set and get a new one.
