Hello Friends, here I found a 2 dollar bill with a clashing of somesort that seems like another US mint plate...

Appreciate your view and advise on the find.

    God Bless

The note was folded and kept in a wallet for a long time. It is not a production error.

Maybe wet ink transfer or maybe in a pocket folded like lettow said.

I'm no spert on bills and their properties, but if you fold the bill (front to front) along the lower horizontal crease, it will match up with the faint printing in the center of the bill(3post full view.JPG).
I suspect that this bill will tend to fold that way because of the way the creases were made.
Was this bill folded in thirds horizontally, in order to fit into a money belt? (conjecture on my part.)(see Lettow's comment)
If so, then the material the belt was made of may have had a chemical that had adversely affected the bill's ink.
Also check the rear of the bill. Based on the way the top horizontal fold wants to fold, you may also see some similar markings. (if the top fold is over the lower fold, the faint printing would be lower rear of the bill; If the top fold is toward the rear, there may be faint printing on the center rear. Or, not...)

By the way, how do you think bills can "clash".

Wrinkled $2 bill worth $2. Do you have a question, or are you just showing
part of your collection? Is it the staining?
