1930 Error Nickle

    Picked this one up for a .75 cents at a local coin shop Sat. nothing great but I,m glad to have it.

    Quite nice, why is it so inexspensive.....my 1930 (non-error) cost $8......

    Wow, nice cherry pick. :thumb: I agree, looks like a scar, lol. :p The dealer probably thought it was regular damage, and marked it down is my thought Jerome.

    Hello JeromeLS,
    It only books for $1.50 in VG-8 and I would say Phoenix was right, he most likely just thought it was a scratch or something.

    Believe it or not guys, there are more than a few collectors who look upon almost any error as nothing more than a damaged coin - because of that they will pay next to nothing for them. Many wouldn't take them even if they were free.

    good deal on it, no matter if its an error or not! the dealers around here sell buffaloes for $1 each, and no dates for 50 cents each.
